When will I see results?

You may see immediate results even after one treatment, however a complete treatment package is 6 treatments for optimal results. More dramatic results may be seen at the completion of 4 treatments with gradual continuing over the course of a treatment period. Results may vary depending on age and the area that is treated. Improvement can be observed after the second session, with gradual improvement continuing over the course of a treatment period.

How long will results last?

Typically results differ from one person to the next. Continued maintenance will enhance and prolong the results over time. Also maintaining a healthy weight with frequent exercise will only help to improve your overall skin and body.

Is there a recovery period?

There is no downtime. Individuals may return to normal activities within 30 minutes after a treatment session. There may be mild swelling which will improve in a couple of hours. Avoiding direct sun for few hours is also recommended.

Who should not have 3DEEP® treatments?

If you have had a recent skin-tightening procedure or laser resurfacing, it is recommended to avoid additional trauma to the skin. EndyMed™ may be performed after a 4-6 week healing time period. Anyone with blisters, open sores, or wounds should wait until these lesions have completely healed.

Nail Fungus

Onychomycosis, or nail fungus, is an infection of the toenail in which the nail changes color, thickness and quality. In addition of causing an unhealthy appearance, it can cause pain and difficulty walking. 

Laser treatment for nail fungus is safe, quick and highly effective. Most patients are able to be clear of their infection with only one or two treatments. Laser procedures for nail fungus are proven to be a much safer and effective method as compared to oral medications or topical creams.  One of the key aspects of eradicating nail fungus is to achieve penetration of the laser energy into the nail bed. This area needs significant heating to ensure the fungal material is destroyed, which requires a deep-heating and powerful laser. The Aerolase Neo Elite offers patients the ideal laser for such treatment. After the treatment, patients are able to resume their daily activities as normal.

Results are not immediate, as it takes anywhere from 3-12 months for the new, non-infected nail to grow. It is recommended that patients follow this preventive care regiment to avoid reinfection:

1.  Apply an antifungal cream for 2 weeks following the procedure;

2.  Always spray inside the shoes at the end of the day with an antifungal spray and avoid wearing the shoes for 2 days or use Steri-Shoe ultraviolet shoe sanitizers;

3.  After 2 weeks, spray the feet or fingers with anti-fungal spray on an ongoing basis;

4.  Change the sheets the 1st night after each treatment;

5.  Cleanse the floor of the shower before next use with a cleanser that includes bleach;

6.  Cleanse all nail instruments with bleach before using them again;

7.  Throw out any nail polish previously used on the nails;

8.  Exercise caution in public areas like hotel rooms and public showers.

Hair Removal

Laser hair removal uses a combination of heat and energy to destroy the hair follicle without harming the skin around it. The Aerolase Neo Elite laser offers patients a uniquely pain-free and gentle way to get rid of any unwanted hair. Most patients who have been treated by other lasers say that being treated with the Aerolase Neo Elite is much gentler and more pleasant. During laser hair removal, the hair must be in its growing phase in order to be successfully destroyed. PFB

PFB (Pseudofolliculitis Barbae, i.e. ingrown hairs, razor bumps or beard bumps) is an irritating condition that is commonly caused by shaving. It often appears in patients of darker skin types, including tanned skin and skin types IV through VI. The laser selectively targets melanin in the underlying hair and follicle, as well as hyperpigmentation surrounding the lesion. Microdermabrasion is a progressive, non-invasive treatment that removes the horny (top) layer of the skin; dead skin cells. It promotes the production of new cells in the deepest layer of the dermis. It cleans pores and aids in balancing oil production. It stimulates collagen networking to further even out skin texture and tone.

How is microdermabrasion performed?

The area is thoroughly cleansed to remove excess oils from the skin. A wand is manually passed over the skin on the face. It gently abrades the surface while a vacuum thoroughly cleanses the skin of impurities. Afterwards a soothing toner is applied to the face, followed with a hydrating cream and sunblock.

How does the treatment work?

Microdermabrasion works in two ways:

• Gently exfoliating
• Removing the outside layers (stratum corneum) of the skin

The abrasive action of the wand gently removes the outer surface layers, allowing smoother, fresher skin to be apparent. The vacuum action helps to stimulate microcirculation and lymphatic flow, increasing the blood supply that provides nutrients needed for skin regeneration. This helps accelerate the skin’s repair process and stimulates the formation of new collagen and elastin thereby improving skin texture and elasticity.

How often is microdermabrasion recommended?

Individual microdermabrasion treatments are recommended every two to four weeks. You will see results after just one treatment, but 3-5 sessions may be necessary depending on the severity of your skin damage. Maintenance sessions should be sought to keep skin healthy and glowing.

Is microdermabrasion painful?

No, the treatment is performed with little discomfort and is adjusted to the client’s comfort level. At the most, sensitive skin might experience a sensation resembling light sunburn or windburn. Can microdermabrasion be combined with other skin care treatments?

What are the risks of microdermabrasion?

There are not many risks associated with microdermabrasion if you are a healthy adult, but we must consider those with skin or medical conditions. You should NOT have a microdermabrasion treatment if you have an undiagnosed lesion, recent herpes outbreak, warts, active weeping acne (stages 3-4), active rosacea, unstable diabetes, autoimmune system disorders, recent laser surgery, recent start of Retin A, recent chemical peel, recent waxing, and if prone to hyperpigmentation take precautions in lowering pressures.

What preparations should be done prior to microdermabrasion?

Please wait 2 weeks after receiving Botox, Dysport, or fillers for your microdermabrasion. Stop aggressive exfoliating products 24 hrs. prior to treatment, including Retin A and Renova. For best results, please arrive to your appointment with little to no makeup.

What should be done post microdermabrasion treatment?

A moisturizer and a sunscreen are applied to the skin prior to leaving. Some redness is expected after a treatment; however, this is not likely to persist more than a few hours. The sensation of having a mild windburn or sunburn will also pass after a few hours. Avoid direct sun exposure for 7 days after a treatment. We recommend a high quality sun protectant product as well as minimizing sun exposure. Exposure to UV radiation is one of the key factors in speeding the skin aging process. Avoid AHA products and skin exfoliation scrubs for 72 hours after treatment. Make-up may be applied immediately after treatment, however, you may wish to experience the clean fresh glow of your skin. We also carry Oxygenetix, an amazing oxygenating foundation that provides natural, complete coverage in a light breathable formula that speeds up skin cell production. This foundation is available for purchase or you can upgrade your treatment to include a foundation application at the end of your microdermabrasion or facial service.

What Is Platelet-Rich Fibrin?

Perhaps you have already heard of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatments, which feature the use of blood plasma high in growth factor content to rejuvenate, restore, and rehabilitate isolated areas of the body.
