Platelet-Rich Plasma

What is Platelet-Rich Plasma?

Blood is made up of liquid (plasma) and solid components (red cells, white cells, and platelets). Platelets are known for their role in clotting blood. They also contain hundreds of proteins called growth factors. PRP is plasma with 5 to 10 times more platelets than what is typically found in blood. Blood is drawn from a patient and the platelets are separated from other blood cells. The concentration is increased through centrifugation. The increased concentration is combined with the remaining blood. Studies have shown that the increased concentration of growth factors in PRP can speed up the healing process.

Rejuvenation

When growth factors enter the face through injections, multipotent skin cells become activated to grow new tissue. This creates new collagen (youthfulness), new fatty tissue (smoothness), and new blood vessels (healthy glow). PRP is a better solution to surgery, fillers, or lasers alone.

Restoration

Non-Surgical Hair Restoration

Hair loss is a common distressing problem for both men and women all over the world. When a person suffers from hair loss and hair thinning, the cells of different hair follicles are damaged and unable to produce new and thick hair growth. Hair loss can be multifactorial, therefore it takes a multipart approach to treat hair loss successfully. In our office we combine Stem cell (amniotic derived stem cells), adipose stem cells, and PRP to provide nutrition and a boost to damaged or dormant hair follicles for hair regrowth. Stem cells + PRP repairs the hair follicles at the cellular level by fostering new cell. New, healthy and dense hair growth is noted within weeks after the first treatment.

PRP Treatment is a non-surgical method aimed at stimulating “new” and “denser” hair growth. Growth factors provide nutrition to the cells in the scalp, promote new blood supply to hair follicles, and reduce inflammation of the scalp creating healthy, productive hair follicles. The result is a scalp that is rejuvenated and able to produce new and thicker hair.

Stem Cell Hair Restoration is for both men and women and results vary based on hereditary factors, stage of hair loss and other systemic conditions.

How Does a PRP Facial Work?

One of our skilled staff applies Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) to regenerate facial tissue. PRP is an organic plasma with a concentration of platelets taken from one’s own blood and containing over 30 growth factors. This plasma, filled with regenerative healing properties, is then, with a precise procedure, injected into the face. Microneedling technique is used in the PRP Facial procedure to create an immune response by your body to stimulate platelets, growth factors, fibroblasts, collagen, and elastin to all serve to regenerate one’s facial tissue. New collagen forms around six weeks after and this collagen induction treats acne scarring and reverses the effects of aging.

How Does PRP Work?

No chemicals are used in the Platelet Rich Plasma treatment. It is fat-free and Glutein-free and is created from your own blood and in this way, is organic. We concentrate your blood to create a plasma with growth factors then we take the PRP and apply it to the face. The growth factors do the work to regenerate dry and aged skin. PRP promotes the formation of healthy collagen and the deposit of elastic tissue. This is modern medicine taking advantage of the body’s own natural and organic healing properties to regenerate damaged sites and in this case, one’s face. This treatment is followed by application of a temporary collagen mask.

What Skin Areas Are Suitable for PRP Treatment?

Treatment applications include: forehead lines; frown lines; brow shaping; cheek definition; bunny lines; crow’s feet; eye circle; lip wrinkles; chin creasing; nasolabial folds; mouth frown; accordion lines; marionette lines; jawline; back of the hands and décolleté wrinkles or crease-marked skin.

What is the Healing Process?

After your PRP Facial, you are able to walk out of our office and continue with your day. There are three necessary stages of healing following your PRP Facial: Inflammation, Regeneration, and Remodeling. In the inflammation stage, for two to three days, fibroblasts enter the site, and begin breaking down old cells. The fibroblasts are responsible for the deposition of collagen and ground substance. Since one’s collagen is primarily the unhealthy cells with chronic injury, the fibroblasts serve to create new and healthy collagen.

It is recommended to have three PRP Facial injections within an 18-month period to ensure the tissue is fully restored.
