The new year is full of promise and resolutions. That being the case, this is the perfect time to get started with something you may have been been putting off, such as health and wellness. It’s been said that people who make a resolution for the new year are over ten times more successful in keeping that promise than if the goal was set any other time of year. Eat a low-sodium, high-fiber diet: Eating high-fiber foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains, like bran, reduces the chances of constipation, which can contribute to the accumulation of varicose veins. Eating less salt can help by reducing the swelling that commonly accompanies varicose veins.
Change your position regularly: Changing your standing or sitting position regularly (crossing the other leg, or shifting weight) will help maintain circulation and stay the growth and possibly even help prevent new varicose veins from forming.
